    3. Dear List Members, I was sent this site by a fellow researcher "Index to the Guion Miller Roll" http://www.accessgenealogy.com/native/guionmiller/index.htm I found it very interesting - and thought I would pass it on to you. Now for the other items. This message is being sent out to all of my list, some which only have 3 members and some with almost 1000. If you are one of my smaller lists and feel that you only hear from me, why don't you take this opportunity to send a query to the list. If you need help from me, please put something in the subject line to alert me that the message is a request for help. When I am at work during the day I use http://www.mail2web.com from my office computer to keep an eye on my lists. I can only read the subject line from there and unless I open each and every message which most times are in the hundreds by 10 am in the morning. This is two time consuming while at work. So, to repeat, if you need my help, please place something in the subject line so that I will know your request needs attention quickly. One more item, It is time or about time when most children are heading back to school and many Moms and or Dads who are staying home now have additional time to work on their genealogy. If we begin to get messages across the lists that do not conform to the guidelines we have for our list, please just let them pass. Remember I am behind the scenes taking care of these problems, helping members subscribe and unsubscribe and reminding members of the guidelines of the list. The only time I send out corrections to the entire list is when the entire list is involved or when one of our members is being attached on the list - I then come to the defense in the same place the attack took place -- On the list. Enjoy the site - Thank you for your continued support. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    3. This is what I have for Harrison and Mary Ann Rhodes Hutchcraft for 1850: 1850 census in Burnt Prairie Twp, White Co, IL - Harrison age 34, born IL, farmer; Mary Ann age 26, born Kentucky. I have a copy of the Civil War Pension Application for Hardy Rhodes, Mary Ann's brother. Mary sent an affidavit for Hardy regarding his marriage to his first wife. She states that she is age 71. The document is dated May 30, 1891 and she states her residence as Macedonia, IL. That makes her birth year 1819/1820 depending on if she'd had her birthday yet. As we all know, ages on census records aren't very reliable. I would say that this notarized affidavit is about as close as we're going to get. Do you have any info on Elizabeth Rhodes Hutchcraft? I can't find her after the 1870 census. Vickie

    3. Ian, Are your distant Hutchcraft descendants related to Alexander HUTCHCRAFT son of Harrison Sr.? Harrison Sr. is my g g grandfather. He was born 1812/1815 in either KY or IL. He died in Nov, 1864 probably in Carmi, White Co. IL. He had a daughter Mary born 1849 Some information says that Mary Ann "Waccababa" Rhodes was born in 1824 in either KY or NC. Alexander is my g grandfather, He was born May 1851 in Macedonia, IL and died Mar. 1894 in Macedonia. He had a daughter, Mary born 1873/74 but she certainly wouldn't be 57 in the census that you have. I would be very interested in the information that you have gathered on the Census that you have, if you would be willing to share. I have no census information for Harrison Sr. I have 1880 Census info for Alexander and his family. I seem to have conflicting reports. The 1860 Wayne Co. Assuming the latter Mary is Mary Ann, that would place her birth at about 1813, which probably coordinates better with the marriage date of 1838. > > Thanks, > Ian R. 2. C Upchurch
    3. Hi, I have been researching a Hutchcraft who married into the Upchurch line in 1848. Ann Hutchcraft was born in Ramsey, England and I have traced her line back to Thomas Hutchcraft who was married to Ann Bishop in 1721, at Upwood Huntingdonshire. Before that date there doesn't seem to be any Hutchcrafts in the area, although an Ann H wife of William H is in the burials register for 1720. Does anyone know where Thomas Hutchcraft may have come from? his estimated dob would be 1700. Regards, Cynthia

    3. Cynthia, The following information is from Edna Hutchcraft Welling book "THE HUTCHCRAFTS IN AMERICA. "Our knowledge of the Hutchcraft family history begins in Surrey, England where Thomas, son of James, and Hannah Hazelwood were married in 1725. By 1734 Thomas and Hannah had crossed the ocean to Anne Arundel County, Maryland where they purchased land. Their four children, James, Nannie, Catia and John were born there" "Page from Thomas Hutchcraft Family Bible Hannah Hutchcraft was Born 10th Nov. 1699 Thos. Hutchcraft was Born June 1696 James Hutchcraft was Born 10 Nov. 1731 Catia Hutchcraft was Born 5th July 1733 Nanny Hutchcraft was Born 8 Sept. 1736 John Hutchcraft was Born 28 Decem. 1739 John Bennett was Born 16Mar. 1740 " [relationship of this person to family is not known] author remark" " Thomas Hutchcraft, son of James Hutchcraft, was born June 1696 in ENG, and married 28 May 1725 in Kingston-on-Tims, Surrey, ENG, Hannah Haselwood who was born 10 Nov. 1699 in ENG. Thomas died before Feb. 1771 in Anne Arundel Co., MD. and was buried before Feb 1771 in Anne Arundel Co.MD. Hannah died before Sep 1767 in Anne Arundel Co., MD and was buried before Sep 1767 in Anne Arundel Co, MD" I checked the index of names in the book and there is no UPCHURCH listed, but thought perhaps you might be interested in the information.. 2. Dear Evalyn, I just read your post to me. How ironic that you wrote that on my birthday. Harold was my grandfather, so that would mean that your father would be my great uncle and my father would be your cousin. How interesting. Do you live in Illinois? I'm in the Detroit area as are most of Harold and Eileen's children and grandchildren. Would like to hear more from you. My e-mail is [email protected] Thanks, Sara

    1. [HUTCHCRAFT] FROM LIST MOM 2nd Quarterly Report for 2001
    2. Kathleen Burnett
    3. Dear List Members, Here it is the end June and time for the Second Quarterly Report for 2001. Can you believe how fast the time has passed? This one almost passed me by. The HUTCHCRAFT Mailing List has 8 members, 7 on the Regular list and 1 member on the Digest List. As most of you know by now, the GenConnect Boards have changed. Rootsweb.com and Ancestry.com are continuing their merger and now have merged the GenConnect Boards. I am not sure of my feeling regarding this yet, but will watch it and let you know. I am not one to jump to conclusions quickly. I also take care of many GenConnect Boards and did loose all of them in which I did not take care of the Query board due all the boards, bios, wills, pensions, etc. being combined within the Query board. If you used one of these boards, now you know why I suddenly disappeared. I know many of you have concerns regarding copyright laws and the information you post to the boards and the mailing lists. The following was posted by Rootsweb Management. "When you post messages to mailing lists, message boards, and other facilities at RootsWeb, those posts remain your property under copyright law." The same is true for those using the message boards at Ancestry.com. In short, if you posted it, you own it." If you are interested in knowing about other mailing list out there, one of the very best inventories of genealogical mailing lists is John Fuller’s Genealogy Resources on the Internet located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html If you ever need to unsubscribe from this list or any rootsweb list all you need to do is visit Password Central located at http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ Follow the instructions and you will received an e-mail of all lists you belong to and from it you can unsubscribe from the ones you want to. Always know that I will be more than happy to help you if you are having problems unsubscribing, you only need to ask. If you would like to visit the Archived messages of this list, go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ and type in the name of the list you would like to search. Please remember, so that this list is better for each of us, the posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political announcements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc., in other words Spam is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me at [email protected] There are a few items I would like to suggest for the benefit of each of us. 1. If someone posts a message to the list that should not have been posted, please just delete it. Know that I am taking care of the problem. If you post your unhappiness, then you just continue on the problem. I know it is hard when your heart has been offended, but for my sake, and the sake of the list, please just delete it. Rootsweb has a wonderful Spam Detective and it stops most of it. You should see what comes across my screen. I have to look at each of them to make sure that what was stopped was truly Spam. Once in a while, one slips by though and if this happens, just delete it and go on with what we all love, genealogical research. 2. If you would put the subject of your posting in the subject line it might give you a better chance to attract the attention of someone who has the information you are looking for or the attention of someone who is searching for the information you are posting. 3. Please remember to delete the tags and un-needed words when you re-send a message to the list with your answer. If you don't check this, your responses can become quite large and may cause problems with some of our member's servers. This member who might not be able to receive your message because of its size, just might be your long lost second cousin with all the answers you are looking for. 4. The wonderful relationship that develops between list members is also one of a Mailing Lists Problems. I encourage you to respond to the entire list with genealogical responses, you never know who your response will help. In the same thought I would like to ask you to not respond to the entire list with personal responses. Such as, the first message from a member says "Happy Birthday Mary" and then Mary says "Thank you” and then about 60 of our members also send "Happy Birthday Mary". This is what I mean by personal messages. Just keep in mind anything is ok to be posted as long as it has to do with the subject of the list. If you have a doubt ask me. [email protected] 5. Remember to keep your Virus protection up to date and never open any attached file unless you are 100% sure what it is and even then you are taking a chance. I want to thank each of you for your continued support of me and your willingness to help make this list the success it is. Kathleen Burnett List Mom [email protected]
