I am seeking information on James Hunter who married Mary/Polly Hickman in Franklin County, Ky on April 9, 1818. Bondsman was Merit Redding. James had a son, James N. Hunter, but I am not certain Mary was the mother. James N. was born 'about' 1819, so he was probably her son too. James and Mary lived for awhile in Louisville and he died in 1837 in Shelbyville, KY. Mary died in 1854 in Henderson, KY and is buried in her nephew's plot. Her nephew, Fountain Cunningham, was the son of Mary's sister, Sally/Sarah Hickman. At the time of her death, Mary was recorded as Mary Owen. Buried around her are all the Cunninghams and a group of children who may have been Mary's by a second husband. There is no mention of a James N. Hunter. If I can find descendants of James or James N. Hunter, it would be a great help. I have good ancestry information about Mary Hickman.
