I am descended through Nicholas and Rebecca Hunter's daughter Zillar's marriage to Silas Weeks, son of Theophilus. There was an article "The Mitchell Family Association Newsletter," Volume 2, Number 4, August 1994 page 3+ "Who Did Keziah Hunter Really Marry?", by Pauline Mitchell Pierce. It did a good job of verifying Abraham as husband of Keziah and as father of the yet-to-be born, your ancient ancestor, George. I am very interested in your documentation for the father of Nicholas Hunter. May I have a copy? Is there anything I can do for you? Russell Henderson, PO Box 141471, Gainesville, FL 32614-1471
Russell, Thanks for the offer, but at this time I know of only one thing anyone could do for me and I think it is a little out of anyone on earth's reach. If you have a cure for someone with prostrate cancer with a psa of 351. I have very little time to spend on research at this time, but have researched the Hunter family for over 25 years. Below you will find the record of proof for Nicholas Hunters father. Also I have a copy of the original will of Nicholas and of Rebecca's. Although you cannot read Rebecca's. Over the years hers has discolored in such a way that very few of the words can be read. There is a codicil that is still legible. I hope every one that is researching this line will enjoy these documents. They are copied from the originals held in the Archives in Raleigh, NC. William Hunter, father of Nicholas did leave a will, but it did not survive through the years. Nicholas's will follows the deeds. Sorry about the way the lines scattered out.If printed out I think it will come out right. As far as the parents of Rebecca. I am certain that she was not a Boone. Many that I have corresponeded with are certain that she was a Hardy, but with absouluty no proof, not even circumstantial evidence. There is another name that I cannot think of tonight, but the same circumstances as the Hardy name. Pauline Mitchell Pierce
