John P. Hunter, brother of Dorcas Hunter Hutcheson was born August 17, 1818 in Buncombe Co, NC, death date is unknown, married January 4, 1842 in Meigs Co, Tn to Mary T. Johnston, Mary's sister, Catherine Johnston married John and Dorcas, older brother, William Henderson HUnter. Other siblings of Dorcas, John P, and William Henderson Hunter listed in the book are: Rev. Thomas Jefferson Hunter, born October 22, 1823 in Hot Springs, NC, Madison County, died October 10, 1905 in Savonburg, KS, moved to Ducktown, TN when young, became a Circuit riding minister of teh Methodist Church, traveled to Illinois prior to 1850, there he met and married his first wife, Nancy Maria TenBroek Bailey, whose first husband, James Bailey h ad died of smallpox in Brookville, Indiana as had also their eldest child, Mary Ellen Bailey, born August 31, 1842, died June 11, 1846. Nancy had come to live with her brother, John Ten Broek who owned and operated an inn,, after Nancy married Thos. Jefferson Hunter, they lived at Sardorus Grove, Il a few miles away, then some years later to Hardin Co, Iowa.Nancy died in 1883 and is buried in Hubbard, Iowa Thomas married second, March 1885 in Hubbard, Iowa to Marry Chrissy who died December 19, 1902, in Savonburg, KS, Thomas and Nancy had eight children. Robert Burton Hunter, born April 28, 1825 in Buncombe Co, NC died December 23, 1864 in prison in Nashville, Tn, he served in the Union Army as a Second Lieutenant, he married in 1854 in Meigs County, Tn, to Crayton Jane Kincannon, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Hill Kincannon, their one child died in infancy, he married 2nd Rachel Young, of Va, they had two sons. Andrew Caldwell Hunter, born 1821, died 1916, Oklahoma City, OK married Martha Humphrey, and 2nd Amanda Wingard, three children by first marriage, 9 children by second marriage. Samuel E.
