    3. Hi Charles, It's been at least 20 years since I've considered this family so whatever I say is from memory. However, with that said, the early history of Louisville states that the wife of one of the Hunter family and maybe one of the sons were murdeded by Indians within sight of the home. I may have this a bit wrong, but the substance is as I stated. Suggest you get a copy of the early history of Louisville. I think it may have been Joseph' mother. Many years ago I had to compile some info on many of the Hunter families that came out of PA and went south in the process of separating my Hunter family from the others. I just checked and what I Have on Joseph Hunter of Louisville, born May, 1760, Carlisle, PA, married Katherine Phillips at Louisville July 21, 1793. She was born April 3, 1770 and died at Scott county MO August 18, 1813. Joseph died at Scott county December, 1821. Their children were: 1) Abraham, born August 1, 1794; married Sarah Ogden. 2) Hannah, born June 6, 1796; married Mark Hardin Stallcup. 3) James, born 1798; married Lucy M. Beckwith. David, born July 10, 1799; married Nancy Phillips. 5) Joseph, born March 15, 1801; married Elizabeth Johnson. 6) Thomas, born May 17, 1808; married Eliza Myers. 7) Mildord, born in 1805; married Susan Jones. 8) Mary, born April 10, 1811; married Andrew Giboney. I think there is a published history of this family. Hope this helps you and/or someone else.
