Hi Betty, I think we are onto something, these names are so familiar, and the location, dates are all similar, if we could just make the connection, but I certainly feel there is one to be discovered here, my William Hunter was born ca 1760 in VA and shows up for the first time in Buncombe Co, Nc in early 1790's, but by this time, he has a wife, Anne and several Children, where he was before then, I do not know, Anne was a Caldwell, and could have been from the Greeneville, SC area, according to family tradition. So we need to keep on this, It may take me a few days, but I will go dig out my copy of the few pages of the book that mentions Dorcas, and if you get any more info on the Hunter book, please let me know.
