    3. Hi Rae, Here is the web link for the map you refer to: http://lcweb2.loc.gov/cgi-bin/map_item.pl Looking at the current map, it looks as if the Alexander Hunter land is where Washington DC- Ronald Reagan National Airport' is located. The closest cemetery in Arlington National Cemetery. Is the General Hunter you refer to: Major General David Hunter? I know that the easy way to do this would be to give you the address, but everytime I try to go there that way I get frightfully lost and my computer tells me it can't find the page. Besides, I think the address would take more time to come up with. Can you tell I'm not real fluent in computereeze!! Anyway the map is great, it's from 1878 and the first thing I've found to assist me in my search for Uncle Schuyler's burial place. Enjoy the map and I hope it helps to connect you to your Alexander Hunter. Rae --- Hhunterg@cs.com wrote: > I have a Alexander HUNTER who died in Bedford > County, VA in 1768. 3. Paul, I don't know which Hunter was the owner of the property in 1862 when my uncle was buried there or who else might be buried there, except that the letter to his mother mentions that 5 of his company mates were also buried that day. I would be happy to just make connection with the family of the Alexander Hunter who owned the property of 500 acres on the map in 1878. Maybe, they know of the cemetery and what happened to the graves when the airport was built. Kinda just want to touch all the bases as Uncle Schuyler and his short life has become an obsession with me. To find where he lay after the war would help to tell his story. Thanks for the info, Rae --- Part Weis <partweis@msn.com> wrote: > Hi Rae, > > Here is the web link for the map you refer to: > http://lcweb2.loc.gov/cgi-bin/map_item.pl > > Looking at the current map, it looks as if the > Alexander Hunter land is where Washington DC- Ronald > Reagan National Airport' is located.
