Cathleen, I don't know where Carrollton, TX is, but Austin has a great genealogy library in the State Library Archives Building next to the Capital. They have most of the states census indexes and much of the census on microfilm. The volunteers there are very helpful and will show you how to access this information. If you have any family from Texas that you are searching for, they also have all the death, marriage, and divorce records, and a whole room full of family books off to the back. Just ask. Good Luck!
