    2. HI everyone: This is the Obit. of one of my g.grandmothers Maybe someone who is an ancestor of someone mentioned in this Obituary, can tell me where this family is from, Scotland, England or Ireland? HUNTER Jane Ann Hunter Relict of Henry H. Hunter, died of heart failure on March 3, 1900, at the residence of her son-in-law Conrad Baker, in Knox township(clearfield co) Deceased was born in Strasburg, Lancaster Co. Sept. 19, 1810, and was therefore aged 89 years, 5 months and 14 days. The funeral was in charge of funeral director, Samuel Tobias, a life long friend and Rev. R. G. Williams, Pastor of the Fruit Hill Presbyterian Church. who preached an eloquent and appropriate sermon from Job 5-20; " Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like a shock of corn cometh in his season" The day of burial although inclement, a large concourse of friends and neighbors followed the remains to their last resting place by the side of her husband who preceded her by a few days over 14 years. Mrs. Hunter was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, having united with the same in early life in her native town and county, In her later years she became somewhat hard of hearing and otherwise enfeelbed. contented herself by reading the sermons by Dr. T. DeWitt Talmage found printed in the public Spirit, which she eagerly sought for Sunday morning,s persual. Grandmother Hunter, the name most familiar to all and most dear to us, leaves besides her own immediate family, to wit: Mrs. Conrad Baker, Robert Hunter Mrs. Harriet High, Mrs. C. A. Mays, 15 Grandchildren, and twenty-nine G. Grandchildren. and a brother and two sisters in Lancaster City, , and one sister in Columbia, Pa. : all well advanced in years. Mrs. Hunter was the eldest daughter of Capt. Andrew Charles, a man of undeniable integrity and influence in his home and county. The avove was united in marriage to Henry H. Hunter, a highly respected and worthy young man, May 5. 1834. On their wedding tour they drove to Philadelphia, the first railroad having not having been completed. Returning they settled in Strasburg. In 1843 they moved to Chambersburg, Franklin Co. In 1847 they removed to this county, settling on a farm near New Washington. In 1857 they moved to the farm owned by Mr. Baker, a portion of which was sold to Mr. Hunter, and on which he resided until his death. After her husbands death, she made her home with her children, ending her days with her daughter, Mrs Baker, where she loved most to be, because here she could totter about going occasionally over the hill to look at her old home which brought back memories of the long gone past. Anyone knowing of the Charles or Hunter families of Strasburg, I would appreciate hearing from you sidkatze@aol.com the county she died in was Clearfield Co. Pa.

    3. Strasburg is in Lancaster county Pennsylvania. I'd be surprised if this is not the place mentioned in the obit. There is a Clearfield county PA. Perhaps that's where she was living. Don't know if there was a Knox township there.
