In reference to the Book the Hunters of Hunterston or of that Ilk. The "Ilk" part caught my eye. My great grandfather was a socialist. His name was William Black Hunter, born in 1856 in Scotland. Had a brother, also a socialist named Robbie Hunter. Robbie may have been involved with running guns to the Mexican revolutionaries around 1910 or before. William belonged to the Kawea Colony in Kings Canyon and later the Llano del Rio colony in the Antelope Valley, both socialist/idealist colonies in California. They are believed to have had some kind of store in Nicaragua before coming to California. Are they in the book? We think they may have left Scotland under a bit of a cloud.
