David M. HUNTER and Ambrose R. HUNTER were twins, born 1800, Tennessee, probably. (1) Business partners with Alexander, John, and Matthew McGHEE in Blount and Monroe Counties, Tennessee, in 1820-22. (2) Moved to Lawrence County, Alabama, in 1822. (3) By 1840, David M. HUNTER family was living in Monroe County, Mississippi, as was Ambrose R. HUNTER family. Ambrose died in 1852. (4) David M. HUNTER family moved to Knox County, Tennessee, in 1848. (5) On the 1850 Knox County census, David M. HUNTER family was listed in June. The HUNTERs moved to Abingdon, Virginia, during the summer, and were listed on the 1850 Washington County, Virginia, census in October. (6) David died at Goodlettsville, Tennessee, in Davidson County in 1855. (7) Widow was Margaret Allen HUNTER David and Margaret's children: William L. HUNTER (by David's first wife, Maria LEETCH) Sarah B. SMITH and Martha Ann SMITH (by Margaret's first marriage to Joseph SMITH of Sumner County) Jane Catherine HUNTER David M. HUNTER, Jr. Alice Scott HUNTER Jessie HUNTER Trigg HUNTER Margaret remarried to James WARE and lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where she died in 1884.
