    1. Re: [HUNTER-L] UK HUNTER people

    3. Hi Andrea, The 'UK Hunter hunters' is a small group, isn't it! As you may be aware, I have no links that I know of to Staffs or anywhere much further south than Lancashire and east to County Durham. So far, I can't even find any links northwards into Cumberland - they didn't seem to move around too much! It's alleged that one of 'mine' (Charles HUNTER, born 30.1.1875) emigrated to Canada around the turn of the century and I also have a distant cousin in Australia via a HUNTER marriage into the GANDY family. But that's it as far as 'far flung' relatives are concerned. As you have found with your Tamworth ancestors, I have continual problems tracking forwards to find missing ancestors as well! I keep thinking that there must be branches out there, if only I could find them... Regarding Hannah, the only one I've seen recently is a Hannah HUNTER, daughter of Thomas HUNTER of Crosby Garrett, Westmorland who was baptised 16.3.1681. As far as I know, she is not an ancestor of mine. I have now decided that, in order to make further progress (hopefully!), I shall have to begin to research and put together all of the HUNTER family groups for the whole of Westmorland (where possible), rather than just those from Kendal and district, as I have been doing until now. I haven't felt this to be necessary previously, as my line seemed to have originated in the town way back in the 1600s. But I've reached a stone wall (how many have said that?), so I'll have to look at alternatives. When this new research has built enough data to form something meaningful, I'll create a new web page on my site and notify the list. If it helps someone else, great! Kind regards, Nigel Hunter, Kendal, England. - -------------------------------------------------------- >Hi Nigel and others >Still looking for UK HUNTER people!! > >Mine were in Tamworth, Staffs in the 1700's.. not sure where they came >from but know they went to places like Willenhall in Staffs, Australia a >little later and some members of the family even went to Europe. > >Where are all the cousins from these early Tamworth people??? > >Also Nigel, did you ever have a Hannah HUNTER who married into the >CASSON line in Lancs/cumberland around 1770's??
