    3. Hi all, Just a friendly reminder on the proper use of Subject lines We all depend on them, to know what the general topic is, and whether it is worth opening the message to read it. It is therefore of GREAT BENEFIT to the POSTER to have the subject line reflect the content, in order to get the most readers. Most mail reader / clients can sort by subject, so that people can zoom in on a topic of interest, and delete blocks of messages , UNREAD, if the subject line is not of interest. SUBJECT LINES 1) If you subscribe to the HUNTER-D version of this list, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure that the original poster's subject has been copied to the subject line of any reply. If your mail program doesn't do it automatically, do it manually. A subject line such as: Re: [HUNTER-L] Re: HUNTER-D Digest V02 #50 doesn't catch anyone's interest. 2) This list is for HUNTER's WORLDWIDE! PLEASE, put in your message an indication of what country / state / province you are talking about. Something like "ENG:NFK>CAN:ON " would mean originally from Dorset, England, moved to Ontario, Canada. - or - "USA:CA" would indicate a single location, of California, USA 3) If you notice that the conversation in a series of notes has moved away from the original topic, CHANGE THE SUBJECT LINE . If you want to add to the new subject line something like " (Formerly:..the old subject...)", great. It can be dropped after a few messages. ATTACHED MESSAGE CONTENT 1) All messages on this list are archived on Rootsweb. For that reason, and respect for users mailboxes...PLEASE **DO** attach a few lines, to help readers understand the context of your comments, but EDIT out headers, multiple taglines, and the message trail from the beginning of the thread. Readers will have received the previous messages, or can find them in the Archives on Rootsweb. Time to step off my soap box If anyone wants to reach ANY List Admin (including me) at Rootsweb, off the list, just address your email to the list name, with ' -ADMIN' added. For this list, it would be HUNTER-ADMIN@ROOTSWEB.COM . Thanks for listening Ron Cushman HUNTER List Admin
