My Hunter's were also in the US before 1800. My ggg grandfather, Joseph A. Hunter was born in 1812 (married Catherine Boyer around 1830). He was the son of Joseph and Mary Hunter. They supposedly lived in New Jersey, but we aren't completely certain of that. They may have lived in eastern Pa for a time before they moved to the Pittsburgh, PA area.
