Hunter, Here is a little more. James Madison Hunter, son of Alexander and Elizabeth (Steele) Hunter, married Mary McFarlane. They moved to Ky and died there I believe. One son went to Miss., then La. This son started the Hunter Clan in La. Another son ended up in Texas. From the book: An established facts, we know that our first American ancestors of the name was Alexander Hunter who, with an older brother John and a younger sister Jane came over from North Ireland. Their arrival in America can be said with confidence to have been approximately in the year 1730. We know that Alexander settled first in New Jersey, moved to Penn., and finely migrated to Bedford County (the exact location being now in Appomatic County), Virginia, where he died in late 1767 or early 1768.
