No, unfortunately, I don't know how my John Hunter landed in Ottawa. I do know that he had a few relatives in that area already. My focus was on his nephew, Samuel Gordon Hunter, who ended up in the same place -- then MARRIED HIS FIRST COUSIN, Sarah Hunter. John is sort of extraneous to my direct line, but Samuel went to Ottawa in 1840, and John was there for a year or so before.
