    3. June, Have you tried the US Census? You know (or have an idea) about the place. All the names of each family member from the 1850 census on are listed on the census, as well as lots of other useful data, like places of birth of parents, etc. Looking at your info, you should be able to find James living with his parents in the 1850 Census. If not, you know where he was living in 1870, between Jennie and Matilda's birth. Look at where he was born there. Personally, I check each census for each ancestor, e.g.; each one where and when they were living. That way I get a snap shot of the family every ten years. The 1930 census is available now (or very soon). 3. Hi List, Sometime in this wonderful hobby we encounter someone who is so wonderful and considerate of others that in a time of deep personal crisis they can still take time to share with others the material they worked so hard to gather over the many years. And someone with such a deep appreciation for the unvarnished facts. Let the facts stand alone. It's a rare encounter. This is not my personal Hunter line, but it's a wonderful experience for me to make such an acquaintance. May God bless you, Pauline, and care for you and yours!!! Bill Hunter

    3. Joyce, What part of TN and KY are your Hunters from? My 4GGrandfather, James A. Hunter, 1813-1850s, was born in Barren Co., KY (we believe) and married my 4GGrandmother, Eliza Ann Woodall, 1816-ca 1870s, who was born in TN (we believe). I do not know any of James' siblings or his parents. The family believes that Eliza was from TN with Cherokee ancestry. If you think we have any common ground, please let me know. 3. Dear Sir: Thank you for sharing your Hunter information. Just a note to tell you the following: I do not have any letters behind my name, and there is a much of most things that I do not know. However, one thing I know of a certainty, that I would like to share with you. Families are forever. 2. My Hunters originated out of Clifford PA. I have come across a couple of Robert Hunters in Clifford. My Hunter line is John R Hunter who married Sarah Minor. Sarah (Minor) Hunter was listed on the census as a widow in the Clifford Census records before moving to Carbondale. One of her children Jesse Hunter was my gggrandfather (he was incorrectly listed as female) he married a Harding. I have his line to current day and also quite a few of his brother's William Hunter's line. Quite a few Hunters came from Clifford, I have yet to find how they settled there. I can't imagine that many Hunters settling in a small area and not being related in one way or another. We currently still hold our Hunter reunion there every July. 3. Thanks so much for searching for the names I had requested. Sorry mine does not appear in your lineage but many people, I am sure, thank you for sharing your HUNTER surname information so they can continue to match and search for their lines. I did not realize just how many HUNTER links there were until I started searching for my ancestors. But, hopefully we will find a common ancestor someday somewhere. Take care of yourself so you can be here to celebrate in that find. Sincerely, F.Kay Hunter Roberts
