    1. Re: [HUNTER-L] Daniel Lynn Hunter
    2. What are you trying to find out? His parents? Is he still living? If not try the Social Security site. They list everyone not living who had a SSN. If still living, try the online phone directories. He will not likely be in genealogical lists if still alive. Good luck Sid

    2. donald hunter
    3. My name is Donald Hunter. My GGGrandfather (William) Ephraim Hunter B. 1777 in Anson Co. Owned land in the SW Reedy Branch of Jones Creek of PeeDee River. Some of this area was owned by William Hunter sr. of Richmond/Anson Co. His wife was Sarah Elizabeth Crocker b. 1779. I am interested in information on William Hunter, SR. and Capt. William Hunter and James Hunter who lived in Richmond Co. They all owned land in Richmond/Anson Co. as well as in Marlboro Co.,SC. I am trying to find if any are related to William Ephraim Hunter and his two brothers Elijah and Elisha(died in Green Co.,AL early 1836). Since they sometimes use their middle names,(I suspect that one or more had a middle of Elijah) William sr.,Capt. William, and James Hunter. There is alot of literature on some of these gentleman somewhere. I am not the only one interested. All these seem to have had alot of daughters and I have seen alot of marriages in Anson/Richmond Co. in 1800-1805. Marrying into Covington,Bostick,LaFeavor,Crocker, and several others. I seen recent inqueries on several women who were married in this area with Hunter as last name and getting married in the time frame far mentioned. 3. Terry, I also have KERR and HUNTER but the link is in County Tyrone, Ireland for me. Would be interested if there is any link ..... I have a couple of references to the KERR surname in records I have encountered while researching my HUNTER and HUSTON families in County Tyrone. I strongly suspect there is a link by marriage but have not been able to establish it. The items I have are: 1. 1901 County Tyrone census return for townland of Aughadulla in the parish of Dromore. Head of household is William HUNTER born c1835. He was previously farming in the west of Ardstraw parish. The census shows him married to Mary, nee HUSTON (or HOUSTON) . Included in the household there is a 60 year old widow Catherine KERR identifed as a 'relative'. All can read and write, all are Presbyterians. 2. The Abercorn Papers in the PRONI (and also on microfilm from the LDS) have rent records showing my HUSTON ancestors in the townland of Ballaght/Ballough, parish of Ardstraw from at least 1832 to 1876. They are co-tenants with a KERR during part of that time. The book "an Introduction to the Abercorn Letters" mentions a "Exekil HUSTON of Ballaght" in 1786 and the first KERR family connection occurs soon after in 1792 - "HUSTON has had his new house in great forwardness and A. KERR is ready to take the one he leases." Regards, Victor On Sat, 26 Jan 2002 10:47:12 -0500, you wrote: >I submitted this 2 years ago. She had, among her siblings, two brothers (Thomas and William). Her father was also named William and her mother Jane (Unknown). She was, as best as I can figure out, born about 1845. Do you suppose these two are connected? I don't know anything more about the family, other than Thomas and another brother Jared Ware HUNTER. If you think there is a connection I'd be pleased to hear from you. Barbara

Some sank deep roots and others moved on, scattering our ancestors from coast to coast. Our purpose is to have fun, get acquainted, and swap genealogical information. The above is a list of the families which we know for sure had ties in early East Tennessee and the ones we have some information on. However, (Sorry all surnames are CLOSED Now) Contact Carl at <CousinsCom2@hotmail.com> or Terri at <CousinsCom1@hotmail.com>. All we ask is that you be willing to act as host or hostess/greeter for your surname and to share whatever info you have available. We Do Need A Head Count, To, NOT over book, However. (Numbers of persons coming) is needed. We would love to have volunteers for all the names on the list (except Brown and Coffman, which we have well-covered) to act as co-hosts/co-hostesses to greet and help people with their surname feel welcome and to help them meet researchers working on the same surname. To those of you with East TN roots who don't have much extended family and therefore don't have a reunion, this is your chance to bring your immediate family members and join ours. We want everyone to have fun, feel welcomed, and enjoy themselves. **That's What Tennessee Stands For: THE VOLUNTEER STATE ** "Where pride walks and the flag flies!"** We know that we have some college instructors attending who perhaps can be persuaded to speak. We also have experts and accredited genealogist who have been researching for 30 plus years. They are ready to share their information with us. ---------------------- Attendance is FREE . . . but we will have a "donation" jar to offset the cost for using the campground, tableware, entertainment, and clean up. PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING AND BRING: 1. First and foremost yourselves... 2. ALL BOOKS, BIBLES, PICTURES, FAMILY SHEETS, AND INFORMATION YOU HAVE AVAILABLE... 3. A covered dish to share. (For those who are traveling some distance and for whom this is not a feasible option, you may either bring a sack lunch or a non- perishable or deli item that can be picked up at last minute locally. 4. Drinks, ice chest 5. A chair or blanket to sit on...If you are serving as a host or hostess, you will also need a small table (card table size or larger) to display your family information on. -------------------------- Last year was our first attempt to pull all these early settlers' descendants together. As far as we knew, it had never been attempted before. It was a resounding success for a first attempt, and it was agreed that it should become an annual event. This area is so very rich in history, both as an Indian frontier and as an isolated jewel of Union sympathy during the Civil War. It also served as a departure point for westward movement and new settlement. Our ancestors left us a rich heritage, which we are striving to preserve and pass on to our children and grandchildren. This rich tapestry of ideals and values is what made us a great nation and what made each of us what we are today. And it began with our earliest immigrant ancestors who came here to start a new life and a new country. COME and SHARE that heritage with us on July 13-14. We are looking forward to making many new friends!! Sincerely, Terri Brown Jurca: <CousinsCom1@hotmail.com>, 5509 Paula Rd., Knoxville, Tn 37912 Carl Coffman: <CousinsCom2@hotmail.com> 1448 S. 2. Wayne Hunter
    3. Hello everybody; We're Ulster Scots descended from Hamilton Hunter (b.1857 d.1933) and Catherine "Kitty" Jane Brett (b.1867 d.1941) Hamilton is the son of John Hunter and Anne Jane Trimble both born in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. (Supposedly). Catherine Brett is the daughter of Richard Brett and Sarah Little. We have tracked John Hunter (b.ca 1826 d.1885) and Ann Trimble (b.ca.1830 d.ca.1895) through the various census and the early Land Records. Our research is getting a little tougher now. We're trying to establish John Hunter's parents and siblings. We are waiting for some reels from the Archives which may provide some clues, because he purchased some Clergy Lands in 1846 and this correspondence may give us some insight. Possibility from various records that he may have had one brother named George. Ann Trimble's father's name was Hamilton Trimble and he was supposedly born in Co. Tyrone. 1788. If anyone has any clues/information or direction on how we can trace this John Hunter/Ann Trimble it would be appreciated. We have recently completed an extensive Hunter Family Tree at http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/venator Feel free to drop by and compare notes on your/our Hunter connections. 2. Penny: I apologize for the delay in responding due to serious family health issues (we're elderly). Unfortunately I do not have information on William (son of William and Sarah Hunter). I do have some information on some of his siblings. They came directly to Knox County, Ohio, between 1851 and 1853 from Cheltenham, England. Perhaps the OHKNOX-L would be helpful. As time provides I will be searching and will contact you if I find anything on William. Again, sorry for the delay. Loretta

Those needing hotel/motel accommodations will need to make them in North Knoxville. **STATEMENT OF INTENT** This is an open invitation to attend the 2nd annual homecoming/reunion of our pioneer families that settled, lived, raised their children, and sometimes died in this area. Some sank deep roots and others moved on, scattering our ancestors from coast to coast. Our purpose is to have fun, get acquainted, and swap genealogical information. The above is a list of the families which we know for sure had ties in early East Tennessee and the ones we have some information on. However, if you have a surname that you wish to add, please contact Terri Brown Jurca at <CousinsCom1@hotmail.com> or Carl Coffman at <CousinsCom2@hotmail.com>. All we ask is that you be willing to act as host or hostess/greeter for your surname and to share whatever info you have available. ALL surnames are welcome to attend whether your name is listed here or not! There will be a wealth of information to share. Plan on attending please! Hadley St. Wichita, Kansas 67213 and co-hosted by many more friends and cousins, both locally and via internet -- too numerous to name individually, but all of whom we thank for all their help. /////////////// PLEASE REPLY BRIEFLY TO ONE OF ABOVE ADDRESSES IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND SO WE CAN KEEP A HEADCOUNT. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT SO THAT WE CAN BE PREPARED FOR THE CORRECT NUMBER AND TO TRY TO ASSIST YOU IN FINDING ACCOMMODATIONS. Thank you.////////////////// _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
