My John Hunter came with Samuel and Thomas to MA in 1718 from Londonderry, Ireland. Some of the group went to what is now NH to settle. John and others went first to Worcester, MA. He is also of Colerain, Leicester, and finally Pelham, MA. Robert one son, possible sons Edward, Samuel very likely yes, also Isaac. Isaac settled in Pelham. Robert settled in Leicester, Colrain and New Braintree (all MA). Roberts' son removed from New Braintree to Wilmington, VT and before 1820 to Cincinnatus and Marathon, NY. His is buried in Texas Valley, NY. Some of his children removed to IA, and IL. There was a Robert Hunter in Otis, Ma. I don't know if he is related to our family. Jeanine [email protected]

Dear Doug, Haven't got access to 1850 MO census - I have lost track of a David Hunter, born 1807, South Leith, SCT - family emigrated to Canada (PQ) C1819. This David had at least 4 children born Ontario pre 1845 which is where I lose him. If there is any possibility this is the one you are looking for, do let me know.Good hunting, Daryl Lightfoot. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Friday, 19 November 1999 21:07 Subject: [HUNTER-L] HUNTER in MO >Does anyone have info on the David HUNTER family that is enumerated in >Cedar Co., MO, in 1850? Hi to all HUNTER researchers. I am trying to find the parents of Jack H. HUNTER. He was born in Tattnall County, GA in 1878. He was married to Nancy Delilla CALLAWAY in 1903. I have found my ggrandmother's family and now I am trying to find the parents of my ggrandfather. Does anyone have this name in their list of HUNTERS. Would love to here from anyone searching this line or any HUNTER line in Tattnall Co. Diana Leasure Stoll Clearwater, FL

I don't know if my THOMAS EPHRAIM HUNTER and his father HENRY JESSE HUNTER are related to the Hunters you named. That's what I'm hoping someone will tell me. Below is information I have about this family. My great aunt said once that either Henry Jesse Hunter or his father may have been a Methodist minister at one time. There was someone named Lizzie in this line, who my grandmother mentioned a few times and who I think may have been Henry Jesse Hunter's daughter Elizabeth Ann. Here is what I have on this line: Henry Jesse Hunter married Nancy Ann Jeter 4-4-1850, Union Co. Ark. (date from Nancy's Confederate widow pension application...he served in Co. H, 25th La. Inf.). From Union Co. AR, they moved to Union Co. LA (per 1860 census), then to Titus Co. TX (per 1870 census), then to McLennan Co. TX (per 1880 census). He died in Mclennan Co. TX 1-28-1885. Per the 1880 census, both of Henry Jesse Hunter's parents were born in SC, and he was born in AL (also per 1870 census). Children of Henry Jesse Hunter and Nancy Ann Jeter that I know of were: Thomas Ephraim 1855 (my ancestor), Nancy R. 1857, John R. 1858?, Elizabeth Ann 1858-61?, William E. 1870, Mary L. 1873. There are many gaps in these dates. Interested in hearing from anyone with connections to this line. S.M. Dear Dianna - We have similar surnames in Patterson, Walker and also Stanhope - But the names that you have offered do not fit my researched lines. I have Robert Patterson (1743-1824) married Amey Ewing (1751-1844) of Philadelphia, Pa. - but no James Patterson. My original reaction was to the Stanhope connection and to that of Rev. George Walker. Aforementioned Robert Patterson's father was a Robert Patterson who married Janet Walker. a presumed descendant of Rev. George Walker of Londonderry, Ireland. I believe there is a connect, but we need more information- We should keep in touch as somehow there is a Stanhope - Patterson - Walker connection - Regards - Richard.
Doug, I am refining an email list for the descendants of John Hunter and Barbara Bowman. Would you be interested in being on that list?
