Hi Keith: I am also descended from a David Hunter from Ireland, but he immigrated to New York State in the 1740s with his wife Leah McIlmoyle, also from Ireland. The Hunter clan is so widespread, it wouldn't surprise me if we're connected somehow, but who knows where? Regards, Joan
Hi Shirl: Just keep my name on your list and if you figure out what branch of the Hunters you are looking for, get in touch with me and we'll put our heads (hands) together and see if we're "cousins". Regards and Happy Thanksgiving, Joan

I am searching for Reuben Hunter who married Sarah Reed. He is believed to have been born in Vermont or Canada. In a newspaper article of their 73rd wedding anniversary, he states he "is from the Green Mt. state". They were the parents of 12 children. Reuben and Sarah were married in 1829 in Morgan Co., OH. She was born in Pennsylvanina. Her parents were James Reed and Martha ? Sarah was born in 1810 and Reuben was born in 1809. Reuben was raised by Josiah Wright who had been a neighbor in Ohio. One of his sons is named Josiah Wright Hunter after this man. Reuben went to Ohio in 1820 and later on to Iowa in 1852. He and Sarah are buried in Audubon, IA. Other surnames in this line: McCausland, Potter, Trunnell, Vaught, Sullivan Would be very much interested in Reuben's parents. sherri

If you will do a "custom" family search by surname on the Hunter LDS website under their surname index, I think you will find several books of family history dealoing with the Hunters and Walkers as allied families. You would have to see the refernce yourself to judge liklihood of this beimg help. Good luck! Charlie
