I have traced Hunt family to Franklin Co. Tennessee where Haden Hunt married Elizabeth Gore in 1849. I attempted to download GED_Com file but apparently this old computer isn't big enough. A new one is ordered. There was a Haden Jackson Hunt married to Elizabeth Gore in 1849 in Tompkins file, so I am most anxious to connect. Hunt's were involved in a tremendous amount of history here in Texas, Haden Hunt was building railroad from Austin to Burnet, Memucan Hunt was Secretary of the Navy for the Republic of Texas, associated with Sam Houston etc. At the family reunion I was told that Haden was one of a family of Fourteen children called the "Fabulous Fourteen". Haden was born in South Carolina in 30 April 1829. Died in Williamson Co. Texas in 1888 and buried with Elizabeth Franklin b. 14 November 1829 and died 18 March 1879. Second wife Elizabeth Gore bore children in 1880, so she must not the Elizabeth Gore who married in 1849? Is anyone out there familiar with this family. They migrated through Alabama. Children of this Haden and Elizabeth were: Martin or "Mart"b.19 Jan 1851 my great, great, grandfather. Siblings were twin brother John Jackson b.19 Jan. 1851, Wilkes b. 1853, Mary b. 1854 Joseph Albert b . 1855, Martha Jayne b. 1855 William H. b. 1862, Samuel b. 1864, Levi b. 1864/ Three other children were born to Haden and Elizabeth Gore beginning in 1880. I would appreciate any additional information about this family's connections prior to coming to Texas. Thank-you so much.
