Uriah Hunt was born 1757, not 1775. Sorry for the inconvenience, was called to phone & lost my thought. Two respondents answered "Huh?" Uriah Hunt was on the 1778 tax list created for Washington County, North Carolina, and listed as 1 tithe. It was the first such list for the new county. His first Entry for vacant land was also dated 1778. Easily proved by court minutes, some tax lists, and several other primary documents from the county. The writer of the sketch was W. A. Keen, born 1804, just 20 years before Uriah Hunt Sr. died.
