    1. [HUNT-L] Re: Will of Reuben Hunt
    2. Felicia and all, Thanks so very much for responding to my question regarding the will of Reuben Hunt of Bath Co., KY. Alas, I see no connection to my Hunt line, other than acquaintance. In searching through the F&C File, it appears that there were three John Tipton Hunts, the line going back to the Baltimore, MD area before being lost. So......unless there is some earlier connection to Ralph Hunt of York Co., VA....zip. It is interesting to read the notes (in F&C File) regarding this Hunt line, and the fact that they were in Tennessee. Family legend (lore, rumor) has it that Ambrose Hunt and his family sojourned in TN, before coming through Cumberland Gap along the Wilderness Trail. In fact, it was said that the huge cut limestone slab that was the front door step of the "Old Home Place", where I was born, was hauled by wagon from New Tazewell, TN by Ambrose and family. Well......I don't know about that. The thing must have weighed over a thousand pounds, and I can't imagine using that much effort and space. Perhaps it was in Tennessee that Ambrose and Reuben became acquainted, or during the trip. Whatever the circumstances, it appears that about 1796 they parted ways; Ambrose going west, and Reuben going northeast. In a later message I will post the documents that Reuben and Nancy witnessed for Ambrose. Best regards all, M. Dean Hunt Louisville, KY
