Thanks everyone for trying to help me establish if the Moses Hunt I was inquiring about belonged to my line. It turned out he didn't, I am sorry to say. Now I have left to work with: My grandfather, Russell George Chandler m 5 Mar 1868 Laura Isabel Leonard in St. Johns, Clinton County, MI. The witnesses on the marriage certificate are Seth Hunt b 27 June 1829 Whitehall, Washington Co, NY and his wife Amelia Conn Hunt b 28 Sept 1828 in Moriah, Essex Co. NY. Seth's obituary gives his father's name as Seth Hunt born near Mt Tom, MA and the MI death record shows his mother as Abigail Brooks. He had brothers Smith Austin b 10 Jan 1840 in Whitehall, NY and Alonzo, George, Wesley, William and John that I know of. They moved to St. Johns, MI in 1857 according to the Clinton County Pioneer Book. Oddly enough there is a record of Smith living with James Miller in Fairhaven, Rutland Co. VT in 1850. I have not checked the census for this. Smith was in the Civil War and some of this information is gleaned from his pension application. Alonzo, Seth, Smith, and George are all in the 1870 St. Johns, MI census. There has to be some connection with my great-grandmother Esther F. Hunt born 26 Feb 1818. If there is any way to tie this information with some you have or if you could tell me where to look next I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Iris Westwood
