Hello all, Below are transcripts of documents That I referred to in my earlier post. These were shared with me by Lisa Hunt Rawlings (thank you again, Lisa). The first two transcripts are from "HALIFAX COUNTY, VIRGINIA, DEED BOOK 15 (1790-1793)", published by T.L.C. Genealogy, Miami Beach, FL. The second two are from DEED BOOK 16 (1793-1796), published by the same. Page 431. June 29, 1792, from Ambrose hunt and Henry Pettillo of H(alifax) to Reuben Hunt of H(alifax), for 65 (pound sign), about 190 acres in H(alifax) on branches of Buckskin (Cr.), and bounded by Rowlet, Isaac Coles Esq., Coles Road, Thomas Scates new line, the Suck Branch, Mildred Coles line. Signed: Ambrose Hunt, Henry Pittillo Wit: John Fisher, David (X his mark) Fisher, John (X his mark) Burchfield, Wm. (X his mark) Scates, Nancy Hunt Recorded: Oct. 22, 1792 Page 432. Feb. 13, 1792, From Reuben Hunt of H(alifax), to Ambrose Hunt of H(alifax), for 200 (pound sign), about 252 acres, all that messuage, plantation, and parcel of land in H(alifax), where sd. Ambrose Hunt now dwells, and lies on both sides of Ellises Cr., and Bounded by Coles Ferry Road. Dec. 4, 1795 from Ambrose Hunt of H(alifax), to Thomas Scates of H(alifax), for 100 (pound sign), about 265 acres in H(alifax) on both sides of Ellises Cr. Signed: Ambrose Hunt, Rachal Hunt Wit: Ruben Hunt, Nancy Hunt, Vincent (X his mark) Francis, Jr., Billy Wright, William Hunt, Roberson Hunt, Joseph Hunt Recorded: Jan. 25, 1796." P. 88: " Page 519. Power of Attorney. I, Ambrose Hunt of Phayette County, Kentucky, appoint my trusty brother, Joseph Hunt of H(alifax), to be my true and lawful attorney, to recover all debts and money as are now due to me in Virginia. Also to sell a certain tract of land in H(alifax) on Ellises Cr. whereon Billey Wright now lives, and containing 134 acres, for the following uses: first, to pay a judgement or execution aither that may be found justly due to the estate of Walter Robinson's heirs, with all costs arising from sd. judgement. Also to retain 11 (pound sign) for myself, with interest on it from this date, the ballance of the price of sd. land to go to Billey Wright when collected, either money or horses. It would appear that most of these people knew each other, and traveled to Kentucky as a group. I would like to point out that "Phayette County" is Fayette County, and I believe the part of Fayette Co. Ambrose was in is now Jessamine County, across Kentucky River from old Fort Harrod. M.
