Hello Rooters, I was very intrigued with Courtney's post on the above subject. I was particularly interested by the will of Richard HUNT (noted as page 14). In it he lists brothers John and William; sons Josia, Nathaniel and Richard; and nephew Ralph. These names are used over and over again in the HUNT line of Ralph HUNT, of York Co., VA, my immigrant ancestor. Now, I know that another Ralph HUNT was the founder of a long and prominent line of HUNTs in New England. I am not very familiar with this line, so I cannot comment much on the reuse of those names. I did notice, however, that the will made mention of "To Ralph Hunt my brother Williams son (pounds) 50, Item to New England........" What I wanted to do was ask for the speculations of the experts on this list, ie.. Sandy, Felicia, Courtney and Clara as to the probabilities that this Richard HUNT was related to either of the immigrant Ralph HUNTs who founded these two important Hunt lines. Respectfully, M.
