I am looking for ancestors of Samuel HUNT(1742-1815) m Hannah CARRIER Dutchess Co and bought land in Chatham Columbia Co in 1786. My sister and I found the property he purchased with a huge, late 1700's home on it which his son Samuel (and w Eunice) and grandson William lived in for some time. My direct HUNT line is: Samuel b 1742 where? D 1815 Chatham, NY m Hannah Carrier (d 1825 Chatham, NY) Enos b ca 1778 CT?? D 1867 Wayne Co NY m Ann ___ (d 1859 Lyons,Wayne Co) Joseph b 1818 Wayne Co D 1900 Kalkaska Co, MI m Rebecca Mesick Shumway (d Kalamazoo, MI) I have my suspicions that after they married in Dutchess Co, they were in CT somewhere before they crossed over into NY again in the 1780's? I have an idea that Enos HUNT, son, was born in CT, but haven't a clue where. There are lots of HUNTS in Columbia Co and I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is working on any of these folks.
