As per request. Charles Moore Hunt...Died 2 March 1902 at his home in Smith Twp., Worth County, Missouri., Aged 70. He was born in Wayne County, Indiana 23 Nov 1831. When he was 4 years old moved with his parents to La Porte County, Indiana. In 1852 he moved to Lee County, Illinois and engaged in farming, until 1856 when he moved to Worth County, Missouri. He married Miss Anna Rumsy, 23 Nov 1854, a native of Pennsylvania. They were the parents of 7 children (3 had died before Charles). Living were James H., Alson A., George R. and Mrs. Sarah E. Motsinger. (A Richard F. is mentioned in an earlier article so he must be dead by this date.) Mr. Hunt is from a family of 8 boys and 2 girls. All had passed away except, John A. Hunt of Grant City, Missouri. James L. Hunt of Macon, Missouri. Richard T. Hunt of Greenwood, Missouri. Services by the Mason Lodge of Grant City and Allendale. Burial Kirk Cemetery, Worth County, Missouri. Charles was elected three terms as Sheriff of Worth County. First time in 1872. In 1864 he was elected Justice of the Peace of Smith Township, Worth County. His brother, John A. Hunt, owned Hunt's Hotel in Allendale. He was born July 22, 1827. Parents are listed as William and Elizabeth Hunt of North Carolina. John married Sarah A. Davison in 1849. She was born in Ohio. John was in Company K, Seventy-fifth Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and was in the Perryville and Stone River Battles. He mustered out in March 1863 at Nashville, Tennessee on account of disability. He moved to Allendale, Worth County, Missouri in 1865. He has two children living in 1882, they are Mary (wife of J.N. Williams) and Nancy (wife of A. D. Jones). One child had died. I hope this helps. Jeff
