"Hunt, Colonel Henry Jackson... eldest son of Colonel Thomas Hunt, an officer in the Revolution and Colonel of the 2nd Regiment of C. S. Infantry.." ForSharon et.al. Major General Henry Jackson Hunt was a USA Artillery Officer as a Colonel,distinguished himself at Malvern Hill as Commander of McClellan's artillery reserve. Hunt's artillery which was HANDLED WITH SKILL AND COURAGE, WAS THE ROCK OF THE FEDERAL DEFENSE.--PP618 Vol I of Lee's Lieutenants. by Freeman. He was eventually promoted to Major General.Distinguished career as an artillery commander. I have not studied his relationship to Thomas Hunt family.
