Hunt Dear Sir, My grandfather was John William Hunt, born in 1869 in Corinth, Mississippi. I believe his father was Amour J. Hunt shown on the 1860 census, with first name spelled wrong [Armour], living in Corinth with wife Martha and two children. He is shown as having served for one year,1861-1862, with the Corinth Rifles, then re-inlisting in the 9th Mississippi infantry untill paroled at Greensboro, N.C. on April. 26, 1865. He was 52 in 1860, but I have not found him before 1860 or after 1865. The census shows his birthplace to be Pennslvania. I am writing in hope you may have something in your files that can help me.
