I have to agree with you and I am not that far up there in years (BTW everybody, Hazel's birthday is in 3 days. shhhh, don't tell her I told you) Ancestry. com has allowed me to find information quickly, which I can then go and verify in person. I have had my beefs with them, but, like you, I now pay less than $100 a year and think that it is well worth it. It is the only thing I pay for online. I have found living relatives doing research on lines which I thought were dead an that I was the only one left alive to search. It may not be for everybody. After all a hundred dollars is a hundred dollars. If you can afford it, you might find that your bigamist grandfather once lived in Michigan (in hiding before getting his second family) by finding his WW I draft card. His address where he livrd with my father is on his WW II draft card and I found my father's enlistment card as well for WW II. All with just a few key strokes. I am, after all, up at 2:11 in the morning doing research on ancestry right now A practice which my local libraries and courthouses seem to frown upon. Happy HUNTing to all, however you do it. Anybody able to help with a Rebekah Hunt in Hendricks County Indiana daughter of Zimri (I think) who married William Hankins?
