I, like Susan, get hopelessly confused with all this. Turns out according to Family Tree DNA that our Hunts also are 11a (whatever that means) and I have no idea where they originated from. We can not get back past Ransom Hunt born 1804 in NY. Father is supposedly William and mother Lydia but so far I can find nothing on his parentage. Those names were shown on his death certificate. Hello, I know you are talking about DNA. But I have a question to ask not about DNA. Do you or any other Hunt out ther know of a Col Stephen Hunt who married Margaret Woertman , having a son Stephen born in NJ.,then Stephen married Ann Sutphen, also having more children.I don't know to much yet but searching for more answers about this Hunt family.I know part of this family started in NJ,before that I don't know, then moved to Ohio, then Ill.. Or has anyone (HUnt) from this line done the DNA? Stephen and Margaret's son Stephen was born 17 Oct 1765 NJ. and died 31 Dec 1857 listed in Morrow Co., Ohio cemetery list.
