I think there is sufficient proof in various records to say the Genl. Memucan Hunt who went to Texas was the son of William Hunt & grandson of the Memucan Hunt b. 1729. Will abstract of William Hunt can be found in Zae Hargett Gwynn, "Abstracts of The Wills And Records Of Granville County North Carolina 1808-1833, Vol. II", 1976. Citation: Granville County Will Book 12, pp. 467, 468, 469. Executors were sons Thomas T. Hunt, Memucan Hunt, Maj. William Taylor, son-in-law Edmund Towns. William Hunt, Revolutionary War Pension File S7051, Granville Co. NC; Natl. Archives (I ordered it years ago) "Col. William Hunt" was a son of Memucan Hunt(1729-1808) and wife Mary Wade(1736-1825)".
