Although the DAR records show James Hunt (who married Rhoda Nunnlee) as being born in Ireland, many of those who came from Ireland came originally from Scotland and, as they were gradually forced out of Scotland, moved to Ireland and on to the colonies; hence, they were truly Scottish rather than Irish. This is particularly true of the early Presbyterians in this country, as Presbyterianism was more or less established in Scotland and many of our present day Presbyterian ministers still are revered if they have spent some time in school in Scotland.
