Hi,I was wondering if anyone knows anything about land deed or records? I am trying to find my line of Hunts my ggrandfather was Anderson Hunt b abt 1821 Va orIN.He is in Lawrence county Ohio where he is on the census til 1900 then I cant find him in death records or anywhere else.I found some land records for Lawrence and Gallia county and feel that my Anderson Hunt is somehow connected to William Hunt because the land records start at 1802 for William Hunt there are about six men mentioned in this record.James Harris Timothy Oconner cant make out this one looks like it is spelled Jefree Holbrook,Hugh Robertson ,Abadiah Barker in consideration for service performed in the united States in the Virginia line And there is a Sackville King that this land is granted to and his heirs. There is another William Hunt land deed in 1841 then there is listed only a Anderson Hunt listed on the one in 1849.My Anderson was listd as Major A Hunt on my Ggrandfathers death cert,So I feel he served but cant find him in the war records anywhere. He first married a Julia Ann Willis then she died abt 1859 and he had several children by Millie Nance but can find no records of marriage or divorce then He married Eliza Martins or Markins then Ann Goldsberry,In the Lawrence county census recordsthere are two other Hunts listed there A Calvin Hunt who could possibly be a brother he's to young to be my Andersons father. A William and also a Griffin Hunt,All these were said born in Va,Anyone got any ideals or whomay possibly be able to connect these Hunts.I would love to hear from you.Or anyone who would be willing to look at the Land records and see if the three records I have connect to the same land or descendants of the William Hunt who appears in the first Land record in 1802.I can send them a copy to see.I sure could use some help.Thank you Lois
Have you checked the War of 1812 records and the Spanish-American War (1847)?
