The John Deadman is son of Richard Marcus Dedmon (Rev War Vet) lived in Rowan and died in Rutherford County NC 1839. Mark Dedmon as he was known was married to a Hannah or Anna Bailey of Rowan County NC also. I descend from a sister to Mark Deadman known as Mary Polly Deadman b 1759 in Patapsco Md who married a Jacob Wolfe, Woolf, b approx 1760 of Stokes county NC. They are my 4xgreatgrandparents. The Deadman's were Tories and had their land confiscated in Md and settled on the forks of the Yadkin River in Old Rowan County NC, which is now Davie county. There is also a Deadman cemetery in Davie County Mocksville NC. It is where my 4xgreatgrandmother Mary Polly Deadman is suppose to be buried. I don't know for sure have never been there. Jacob Wolfe was supposedly shot and killed by the British sometime around 1796 in WVA. I have no idea where he is buried. The rest I don't know. Thanks, Melanie Malone
