Having been on E-Mail from the start I thought I knew everything. I had problems logging on to RootsWeb and everything else. So I spent a lot of money having my computer checked out. It worked worse when I got it back until it wouldn't go online at all. Then by chance and choice I picked up my telephone (computer only line). I dialed the ISPs number--well no wonder-the line was so noisy nothing would read through it. I called the telephone company and they agreed I had a bad line. Within 12 hours they sent out a team and found the problem between my house and the central office. It took only a few minutes for them to find a clear line and put me back in business. Now its a matter of seconds to get a connection. Every now and then listen to your line on the telephone to be sure its clear of crosstalk and noise. Live and learn.
