At least to me and to Mitchell Hunt we seem to have received a new HUNT line. The receipt was by mail and many many pages of documentation. To punch it all in will take several weeks. However before doing that I would like to ask if by chance ANYONE happens to have this family in their computer so we might do a GEDCOM or partial one to save a lot of work. Particular attention Everett and Elwyn: ************************************************************************* *** William HUNT Sr m. Saah____ Wm. prob. b. Dutchess Co. NY died 4 Nov 1823 in Vernon Twp Sussex Co. NJ William Hunt Jr. a farmer. b. 26 Nov 1783 Dutchess Co NY d. 20 July 1853 Vernon Twp Sussex County NJ m. Phebe Doty 7 Jan 1803, b. 4 Sep 1785, d. 14 Oct 1807; m. Elizabeth Williams 17 Sept 1807.b. 28 Nov 1791NY, d. 29 Apr 1887 Vernon Twp Sussex Co.NJ. had 14 children. Have all 14 and their spouses. The entire line from here on is available. My research shows that there were at least two three William Hunts in Sussex County about the same time. For initial purposes lets call this the VERNON NJ Hunt Line. I have reason to believe that some of this family were Lutherans. It is also possible that the family name, HUNT, MAY have been changed from some German alternative spelling. The is pure speculation. Was Vernon Twp a German settlement? Probably near the NY -NJ border. Sandy Hunt Lubbock Tejas
