    3. I not sure where we are in this discussion it started as I remember it was with the James Hunt who Lucy Wimbish signed a statement in support. She said he lived near her father Elijah Hunt and was a cousin. We know from the application he married Rhoda Nunnelee and moved to Henry County, Virginia. The only James Hunt who could possibility be a first cousin was James Hunt son of Charles. This James Hunt who was a son of Charles Hunt moved to Tennessee and applied there so he was not the one she was referred to in her statement. Because of subject James Hunt age he could not been a grandson of Joseph Hunt brother of James Hunt 1703-1795. We know from looking at "all" Rev War pension applications at the National Archives that at least three Hunt Rev War veterans moved from Charles County, Maryland to the Charlotte/Halifax County, Virginia area about the time of the Rev War. They were: 1)Abraham Hunt b-August 6, 1762 in Charles County, Maryland--lived there until seven years old (1769)--then moved to Charlotte County, Virginia--father John Hunt ---Private US Army 3 months there--- lived Charlotte County, Virginia 17 years (1796) ---moved to Wilkes County, NC---lived there 16 years---moved to Wayne County, Kentucky 2) Howell Hunt --We have only his widow application which started he was born in Charles County, Maryland and lived in Halifax County, Virginia early in the War. In 1778 they moved to Wilkes County, NC. ---He died 1793. 3) Thomas Hunt born 1747 Charles County, Maryland where he enlisted and was discharged. After moved to Halifax County, Virginia where he lived until 1810 and then moved to Rutherford County, Tennessee. (The legend in my family that he moved from Halifax to Rutherford with his cousins. Note the James Hunt son of Charles Hunt moved there also.) Back to the James Hunt who Lucy Wimbish furnished a supporting statement saying he was a cousin. I believe that the subject James Hunt maybe have been part of the Hunt family that moved from Charles County, Maryland to Charlotte/Halifax Counties area about the time of the Rev War. It important to note that the father of one of these was a John Hunt. James Hunt (1703-1795) had a brother named John Hunt which we have not identified. I offer this John Hunt as the best candidate we found. To support that assumption I proved to my satisfaction that Thomas Hunt's family whom I descend referred to the Hunts who settled in the Charlotte/Halifax Counties earlier as cousins, I can only assume they were related. I would very much like to say John Hunt the father of at least one veteran was James Hunt's (1703-1795) brother. Appreciate anything anyone may have to support or deny this assumption.
