Frankly I never look at them except under dire circumstances for LEADS. AND THEN I don't believe a word of it until I contact the source. You have been around long enough to know not to believe anything you read especially in files that ACCEPT ANYTHING from anyone without proof. >> And I have to disagree , Many years ago when I was first starting my search for my roots someone told my about the LDS church and what they had ..... So I went , I saw , and I found ; My complete family !! , My Father , My Grandparents , great grandparents , great great grandparents and many many cousins that I knew nothing about ..... 95 % of it was Accurate ..... the person that did Her ' church work ' was very lucky in one respect , she had the ' Family Bible ' , Only made one small error , picking the ' wrong ' persons ' out of the Federal Census data for our GGG-grandparents ...... In my 10 years of research I have expanded the ' file ' from 72 people to 3261 .... WHICH I DOUBT VERY MUCH I would have been able to do without the ' Start ' I got from ' Ancestral File ' , In fact I strongly recomend every one should start there family research with a look at Ancestral File ...... 75 % or more of every thing I have pulled out has been essentially correct , maybe a few duplications or just outright errors , but with a liitle research / looking for the records I have made many forward strides . AS LONG as you realize it could very well be incorrect , Phil
