Was in 1850 census of Walker Co., Ga. as HH, listed with wife, Melissa A., & children: Haralson, James, Mary and John; and mother, Margaret Hunt, 58,Widow, b. S.C. Children were born in Ga. He enlisted for one year in the C.S.A. in Arkansas in 1862 and records indicate he was discharged the next year; however, he is called "Capt. Hunt" and it is stated he was killed by guerillas who stopped at his home toward the end of the War. His widow, Melissa, went to Illinois with the children.
