Dear Faye, Thank you so much. I've been searching on the net for about five months also (for Hunts, Ordways, Wilsons, Popps, McVays, McKinneys and so on) and laughed out loud at your description of what new comers find. Too true! I lucked out when I sought the Castleman/Casselmans about five years ago (the old way) by stumbling over two geneologists with lots of the family line. In fact, I discovered that we (Thea Lois Castleman, dau. of H. S. Castleman) came from Germany not England in 1720!) Anyway, Faye, I really like your approach. I wonder if we could also include in each email message (about Hunts) the area, earliest area known for our particular line? So many are looking in the South or Texas and my great grandfather, William D. Hunt evidently went to IL from New York, as did, as a child, his wife to be Mary Lois Wilson Hunt. M. 1855. They died in Bancroft, Kossuth, Iowa. I do not know any more about William D. Hunt than that. But in each query that I make it seems I should mention him and his reported origion of NY. Mary was born in Palmyra, Wayne, NY in 1834. Her brother David gave his origion as Ellis Island, NY. There was also a 26 year old sister with them in the 1840 census in IL. No parents mentioned. Sorry this is so long. I like everything you say! Thea Castleman Windsor, CA
