I too am looking for Indian blood in my family and know how hard it is to find the answers. Most of the reasons were explained in the letter to the list. I have just a few more. 1. If you don't know your families "Indian" name, then again you are lost. I have one side who's surname is Gilmore. His Indian surname was "Corkney". 2. Another reason is during some families raising, it was not good to have any Indian blood in your line. They were ashamed of this, so they kept it a secret. A very close friend of mine found that her ggrandmother was full blood Indian. She ask her mother and her mother said, " I don't want you to research my line, there are some thing you don't need to know." Well, this friend didn't give up and found her mother's family. She showed this to her mother, and her mother was so happy that she had found all of this information about her family that she didn't know that she went to her old trunk and pulled out about 4 books that had all of this information in it, and more. So don't give up!! I am very proud of my INDIAN BLOOD on both sides of my family. (Still haven't proved it yet!!) Wilma
