My grandmother Ellen was born in 1900 in Yell County Arkansas. They went to Oklahoma in 1908 and John Hunt supposedly staked some land for Ellen and her sister Ollie which was not granted to them for an unknown reason. Either Mary Mays or John Hunts grandfather was John "Cotton" or "Cotton-Eye" Smith. They are said to have been Indian. John Hunt died and Mary remarried William Yancey Adams and had 5 or 6 kids. They lived in Weleetka and Okemah Oklahoma. My Father's grandparents on his father's side were Sarrah Hunt and George Brand. They had my grandfather in Scott County Arkansas, possibly the City of Blue Bell or Waldron in 1898. Once George Brand died Sarrah remariied a Kimbro or Kimbree. I have searched and searched and can find no tree that lists any of them. There are many John Hunt's but I do not have a middle name or place of birth. I will try to get my grandparents birth certificates from Arkansas to see if they list them. Any help would be appreciated. That is all I know.
