Daniel HUNT2 was born in 1786 in Rowan County NC. He died in 1842. There is a 7th child according to the census, b. 1831. Name not discovered. All childrfen from Felicia Goursin file-1998 and Mitchell Hunt's Col. Jonathan HUNT manuscript. Daniel is enumerated in Randolph Co., Mo. 1830 and 1840 census, and Agnes is in the HH of son, Jackson in 1850. Nathan (supposed to be a brother to Daniel) is also in Randolph Co. 1830 and 1840 census and Isabel, w/o Nathan is in the 1850 census. The theory is that both of the men, brothers Nathan & Daniel, went to Ca. in the Gold Rush, but Clara Hunt Miller has not found them in a Ca. 1850 census. Clara Hunt Miller states "they had at least eight children". Mitchell Hunt in his "corrections" to the original mss. states "The Daniel Hunt who went from Randolph Co. to CA in the 1849 Gold Rush was not this Daniel but his nephew, son of brother Nathan." This Daniel and his brother Nathan, founded the town of Huntsville, in Randolph Co., MO. A baby was born to susannah and Charles Bailey April 17, 1815. Susannah died Apr 18, 1815. Daniel and Agnes raised William Hunt Bailey. charles Bailey married Rosie O'Damniel, and moved to Central TN. Martha Bailey, Agnes sister married Peter Culp. the two families and baby William moved along withBrother Nathan to Randolph Co. MO about 1817. the town of Huntsville is named for Daniel and Nathan Hunt. Nathan purchased 60 acres in 1819, in 1820 Peter Culp purchased the 160 acre pardel adjoing Nathan. Daniel purchased land nearby. William Hunt Bailey bought 80 acres on August 3 , 1837. Information from jeffery R. Bailey, GGG grandson of William Hunt Bailey. Joh and Martha apparently lived the rest of their lives in Barren County where John died 5 Sep `1855 per a Baptist Church Cemetery Record and Martha is reported to have died in1859 (but she is listed with her son Wesley Wiseman in the 1860 census of Barrem Co., KY) They are said to have had ten chuildren, eightr sons anbd two daughters, but only seven sons have been identified.
