I ran across this in cleaning out some papers and thought it might interest some of those researching HUNT in NJ. From the SC Historical & Genealogical magazine, VOL.XXXIV Pg. 111. Mariage & Death notices:"Died, on the 12th inst. (12 March 1810), in this city (Charleston) where he had come for the establishment of his health, Brigadier General Hunt, of New Jersey, Adjutant General of the Militia of that state. It must be consolatory to the feelings of his afflicted relatives and friends to learn, that this gentleman received here all that sympathy for his sufferings, and regard for his memory, which their own affectionate zeal would have displayed. By request of General Read,, a detachment of the 17th brigade performed the melancholy honors of his internment, and the officers of the different regiments in the city united in accompanying to their last sad abode, the remains of the departed stranger.
