    1. [HUNT-L] Hunt Families born in NC that moved to TN

    3. There are several Hunt families that moved from NC to TN in the early 1800's. I have an ancestor that did the same. I think those that fit this profile, b: NC moved to TN, should come forward and share what they know about their Hunt family including their suspicions about who is or isn't a parent/sibling they are still looking for. This goes for other Hunt migrations as well. Instead of just names lets include where the individuals migrated from and where they settled. If we all send out the information, fitting the NC to TN movement, or post it we all might have a bit more luck with leads or crossing names off our potential list. It seems only a few people are sending out information these days or when they come across a list of vitals they just skim through for their name and leave the rest. I have tried to write down these other names and send it through the list in hopes it might help someone else. Genealogy is time consuming we know but think for a moment about this suggestion. It may only cost another .15 cents to copy that entire page and about 15-30 min. to transcribe it for the list but it is this one person who might send out the detail you have been searching for for years. And if you do find and send this information be sure to list the source as well and where you found it so others can document this information properly and find it themselves. I have not noticed many people doing this lately. This also goes for the internet searchers as well who find a great site that holds several Hunt names. Lets face it...the Hunt list is a bit void of information lately. Sure there are several inquiries about a persons family and this is helpful too but I know many of you are actively searching and finding information. No matter how small you think a bit of information is if it is not to much trouble to type it up and share it please do so for others. I am going to start doing this with the early NC census indexes I have on the Hunts. I have offered the look up in the past but I am just going to transcribe and then post them on rootsweb message boards. Please don't start emailing me right now with a request of a look up because I can't at the moment. But I will transcribe them. When I get the time I am going to look up each Hunt in NC and transcribe all the Hunts in NC and TN for the earlier census records. After that I will start on 1850 of all Hunts in NC and TN. This is my suggestion for those that are able to help. Just do what you can to share what you come across even when you know it is no relation to your genealogy. Not every one can do this and that is understandable but those that can or have the time and haven't already done so please take a few extra minutes to write down a little bit more. It would be so greatly appreciated by many. Thanks to those who have shared already! Tara
