Would like to know if anyone has information on the Hunt Family that settled around Branford, Florida? I have a Samuel Hunt b. 1789 in Wales(?), m. Charlotte Dodd, 10 May 1810, in Union Co./South Carolina, d. abt.1874, in Nassau Co./Fl., bur, 1874, Brandy Branch/Nassau Co., Fl. Samuel died 7 Sept. 1855, Oak Grove/Columbia/Fl. bur. Brandy Branch/Nassau/Fl. was given a land grant in Columbia Co., Fl for service in the War of 1812. Was a Pvt. in Capt. Daniel Felder's Co., S.C. Militia, 1 Oct 1814-17. March 1815 was living in Laurens Co/S.C., 1820 Camden Co/Ga., 1840 Columbia (Suwannee)Fl., in 1850 in Charlotte, living in Charleton Co., Ga. made an application for widows pension.

Wit: Geo. Dillard, Jesse Alexander. Pr: J. Garlington Qm. (Charlotte w. of Samuel Hunt.) Also: (op.cit) 3/6/1819-8-30-1819, Same to daughter Margaret w of Jesse Alexander of Union Dist, a negro Gracy & her increase. To her ch after her death. Wit: Geo Dillard, Saml Hunt.
