    1. [HUNT-L] Wiseman, Hunt, Wilson

    3. Cathy & Laura, Elijah Hunt was actually the son of Gershom Hunt and Elizabeth, his second wife, surname unknown - Eunice Fitzrandolf died in 1759 (3 children with Gershom) and Elijah was born abt. 1765. These are indeed his children you have listed minus the two eldest John and Sarah - Sarah married a Wilson - don't know anything further about John. Elijah died June 18, 1821 and his wife Johanna Wiseman must have died as well before 1827 and thus his children were left orphans. Johanna Wiseman's parents were William Wiseman b. abt. 1751 in Berks Co. PA, d. Sept. 17, 1805 in Rowan Co and wife Ann, surname unknown (son of Isaac b. 1700, d. 1799 & Mary also of Berks Co. PA to Rowan Co. NC)- since William was also already dead by the time of this event it is likely that the William Wiseman was William Jr., their son who was alive until 1867. William Jr. was married to Sarah "Sally" McBride and they eventually moved to Tipton Co. TN - I don't know if they took the Hunt children with them on the move but this may be where some of them anyway wound up if anyone is researching them. I don't have anything further on Elijah's children (spouses, children, dates) just that Sarah was married to a Wilson I do have children, spouses, dates, etc. on Elijah's siblings, ancestors and Johanna's siblings, ancestors, which I'd be glad to share. Abraham Hunt was Elijah's brother and he died intestate and unmarried in 1825. I am a (Ralph)Hunt descendant as well and also an (Andrew)Smith descendant (reference to Laura) of the same family that Sarah Smith was a part - who married Col Jonathan Hunt. My Hunt connection is through Anna Hunt daughter of Ralph Sr. who married Theophilus Phillips in Newtown, LI, NY, and the Smith through Sarah Smith daughter of Andrew Smith, who married John Park I of Hopewell, NJ. I have followed the Hunt and Smith lines as well as the Phillips and Parkes, and Wiseman's who married into the Hunts and who married extensively into my Owen family in Rowan Co. NC (my Parke ancestor married an Owen) because I have so many family connections that began in Hopewell NJ, went to Hampshire Co. WVA in some cases and wound up in Rowan (now Davidson & Davie) Co. NC. I feel a particular connection with these folks because I also grew up in Winston-Salem, NC just minutes away from the "Jersey settlement" in Davidson Co., and Huntsville, Yadkin Co. where I have many many family connections as well - and also grew up later in Flemington , Hunterdon Co.NJ just down the road from Hopewell NJ and I now am back, living in Winston-Salem NC. I'd be glad to help in any way I can further on these families and would enjoy sharing information that you may have as well that I don't.
