I took a lot of time on this one but found nothing. Please reply to <lduncan1@elp.rr.com>/ cc to sbh3@prodigy.net. Sandy, Lubbock Texas --------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "Joan Duncan" <lduncan1@elp.rr.com> From: Joan, <lduncan1@elp.rr.com> I am so impressed with the time you took to help me in my search for parents of David Hunt. I do thank you for your kindness. David says in the 1850 census that he was born in N.J. In fact he was born 2/8/1800, md Mary Blalock 10/5/21 listed in the early marriage records of Butler Co., Ohio. On the same day, William Blalock was married, I believe to be Marys' brother. In the 1820 census they were next door neighbors. By 1830 both families had moved to Gaspar Tsp., Preble Co. Oh. There is a record I discovered which I have never acquired fromi Trenton, N.J., the death of David Hunt in 1831. This is particularly interesting since David in Oh. began in 1832 acquisition of a number of land deeds. He seemed to buy and sell a great deal of land over the next few years, some designated as town lots - not in a town I ever located but near at hand I'm sure. By 1850 they were in Butler Co. again and David said he was a bridge toll taker. David and Mary had (Dr.) Nathan Hunt 1820, Elizabeth 1822, Mary Ann 1825, Richard 1827, John E. 1832, Hannah 1835, and Dunham 1838. Somewhere in there I believe they had a little son, David, because he's buried beside his sister in the Antioch Cemetery just out of Eaton. Eliz. may have died in childbirth (she married James Bayard Campbell), and when visiting the cemetery, there was little David Hunt. About the middle of 1850's they moved to Clay Co. Indiana and were then close to Mary Ann Hunt Campbell who md. Eliz. husband James B. Campbell (Campbell is my maiden name). David died in 1859, and Mary was in the household of Mary Ann and James in the 1860 census. She died 1866. I'm a member of the DAR here in El Paso, and when we visited their wonderful library in Wash. D.C., I found application papers from a descendant of David Hunt, whose father was Daniel Hunt, whose father was Simpson Hunt. She had listed more ancestors of the patriot in the Amer. Revolution than required, but if he should be father of David, I would have a whole passel of new ancestors. Unfortunately there is a place on the application for the applicant to register the children of the patriot, but we only knew of the one through which she qualified. I hope this makes sense-- It's getting late. It would seem my next move is to attempt to get a copy of that will of David who died in 1831 in Warren County, New Jersey. I was going through my 130 typewritten pages of Hunt data. Since it's quite a deal to hitch up our trailer to go researching In., Oh., Pa.NJ. etc, we take down everything we come across in the area we are researching. That's how I came across the reference to the will of David in N.J. I wanted to find accurate data for you in case you have any further help. If you find nothing in your records, I do want to thank you once again. This internet is the berries isn't it!
